The card reader now works fine.

I have been having this problem and have tried all of the ideas about reinstalling drivers that I found in these forums, without any luck. Open the Device Manager same process they instructed to uninstall the drivers, then insert the SD Card.
I just downloaded and let it install. There is no entry in device manager, the device has simply disappeared in Windows But you should see a PCI Device show up under Other Devices, then right click and select update driver software and rsader automatically for updated driver software. I updated the drivers for my Toshiba laptop and it fixed the problem at least for now. Follow the jjicron steps: I now have access to the card reader and my pictures.

I have the same question In reply to Harshavardhan Rathod’s post on August 6, You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. Mine is exactly the same as well, no carc reader detected or showing up in device manager since Win 10 upgrade, seems this is a common issue but as usual microsoft not coming up with a fix.
