What I am thinking of trying, however, is to insert the sections from the U2. I assumes this means Vista doesn’t support the driver for the U2W. First there are a number of things to understand here before troubleshooting SCSI devices. Perhaps that could be of help as well.
You must understand what the U2W is, which is in the labelling system.

This card went through the following progression. Adaprec it is true. White was able to get his U2 card working in Windows XP bit using a modified pnpscsi. To answer your question, yes I did. INF driver, and the Vista installation recognized the drive, allowed me to format and do a clean installation.
